My daughter is a little over 2 years old now. My fiance(different woman),is pregnant with twins so we are thinking about potty training her,or starting potty training with her now. She can tell us when she needs changing already. Is that a sign? Any advice would be very helpful and appreciated.

Yes, that is a sign, when she knows that she went to the bathroom she’s old enough to go in the toilot. Get a potty training potty and put it in the bathroom and let her know that if she feels she needs to go potty go. I would ask her every hour to go sit and try to go to the bathroom.

Yeah sounds like she is ready. My daughter was fully nappy-free my 22mths. I did start young with her though, putting her on the toilet in the morning and after naps and that taught her what the toilet was for and the rest followed at her own pace, first with asking to go then going by herself.
Just don’t feel like its a race or that she MUST be potty trained by such’n’such time. She might even go backwards a little when the twins come – from wanting to feel like a baby again too – or you can encourage her to feel like ‘the big girl’ and help with the babies.
Just take it slow, show her what the toilet is for and let her do the rest. Just give her the biggest huge attention and praise everytime she uses the toilet as that is the best reward any child wants! We used to have a little silly song I sang when she went and then swing her in the air shouting ‘whoooo’. lol

This is a great time to work on potty training especially with her asking to be changed. Make sure you are consistent with taking her to the potty and even after it is successful. She will need your encouragement with the potty training and even after the babies are born.

i’d try her on the next warm day (messes on floor dry quicker) and see how you go. If she’s ready you shouldnit have any probs. if she’s not you’ll soon now, leave a few weeks and try again.
just make sure you have loads of spare clothes!!
