Same way as training any other dog. I just got a toy poodle myself so I am also going through some difficulties. Put down some paper and try to get them to use the bathroom on there first. Everytime they do, praise them. Anytime they don’t make sure that you catch it immediately and tell them no, or bad dog. If you don’t catch it immediately and it has been a while, then don’t discipline them because they will have no idea why they are in trouble. They will have already forgotten. And once they get potty trained to paper, from there it should be a cinch. Keep moving the paper closer to the door and then begin taking them outside and remember to praise them everytime they go in the correct place. Also get some ammonia to put over the spots where she had accidents otherwise she’ll smell the urine and will keep going there. Hope I helped.

Potty pad train her instead. Clean up any misses and mistakes with an odor neutralizer cleaner made especially for pet stains and odors.

u can’t toilet training at that age is actually just training the parents to know the signs it’s pretty pointless

to me, potty trained means they get themselves to the bathroom in time every time without a reminder, use it on their own, wash their hands, get their clothes back on, and go back about their business.

i don’t know what potty trained would even mean in someone who can’t crawl, or likely talk.

maybe it’s these definition differences that explain why other people seem to have potty trained their kids so much earlier than i did.

I potty trained my elder one too soon and he regressed terribly. He was four by the time he was completely potty trained. From there on I watched for the signs they were ready to learn so as to not have the others regress as the elder had.

There are some things that HAVE to happen before they are be potty trained. They have to
One: They have an interest in the toilet
Two: They have to be able to “feel” the urge to go
Three: They have to be able to “hold” it.
Four: They have to be able to walk to the toilet
Five: They have to want to!!! You can’t force them!

It is just cruel to put a baby on a toilet and expect them to get it so soon. It take a while for a willing child to get potty trained.

They say that kids will learn to use the potty at their own pace, and I definitely do think that teaching them before they can walk is wishful thinking, but who knows- maybe this kid will be the youngest kid to ever be potty-trained? I started training my kids at two and they were completely on their own by two and a half.

babys dont even have the muscle control to ‘hold it’ until 16 months old.
