I totally took the diapers away from my three year old today and we started the potty. We had accident after accident after accident. I tried my best to stay routine and take her about every fifteen minutes…we would go in there and we would say she is all done and then potty in her panties right afterwards…I do not know what to do, please help!
What is the longest you have heard anyone potty training a girl? After today I am getting worried.

you do not take diapers away all at once you slowwly do!!!!!!!!!
some are not potty trasined by the age of 6 or 5 so do not worry
I have been potty training my 3 yr for a VERY long time…. took the diapers, took the pull ups, put the potty chair in the living room, and rewarded her everytime she went…. I am still trying to potty train her and its been 4 months…. She doesn’t go to daycare or nothing so i am in this all alone. But I am not going to give up lol… She tells me all the time she will go when she is ready..
One day won’t do it. She’s not sure what you want her to do. When you go, take her with you. Set her on the potty and when you pee announce it to her “Mommy’s making a pee pee” (use your own words if you like) Stay on it a little longer than you normally would. When she does go don’t go overboard, let her know that that is what you wanted her to do.
It will take several months before she is completely trained. When she has an accident, let her help with the clean up, (wash her own big girl panties)
Don’t scold or get upset. This is a process, just be consistent and positive.
Good luck
honestly, i tried to start potty training when she was about 2 years old. that didn’t really fly since she wasn’t 100% ready to do it. i tried that early on because my mother was pressuring me to do it since she said that i was potty trained by the time i was 2 years old. after that, i just let her take the lead and go to the potty whenever she felt the want to go sit on the potty. mind you, for the longest time she just sat there on her potty seat fully clothed. i figured it was a good idea of getting her used to the fact of sitting on the potty and i kept her in pull ups during that time. then every once in a long while she would actually make it into the potty successfully and we would praise her and reward her with a sticker on this board we bought her. then about a year and a half passed and finally this past summer she was ready to go on the potty exclusively. she has had accidents every now and then but i know for a fact for my daughter she is figuring out the whole potty training so quickly since i let her take charge. she feels so proud when she makes it on the potty that it wasn’t too hard to train her to do number 2 on the potty. just relax and let your daughter take the lead of when she is ready. she’ll let you know. honest to god it will one day click in her head and she’ll go by herself. hang in there.
Instead of focusing on your second question about a worst case scenario, I want to stay positive and help you stay positive. What worked for my kids is The Potty Stool http://www.thepottystool.com This stool makes any toilet kid- sized. My daughter really loved using the toilet on her own and she did not want help. I like that this stool cuts potty training in half by eliminating the potty chair. This stool really made all the difference for my kids. I hope this helps.
