Neither of those are effective although pull ups training pants are so ur child can poop and pee in them thats what you need right

the potty chair if the kid is afraid of the toilet, if not the insert, I think they like to hear the tinkling

Try both and see which your child goes for, kids potty train at their own speed, don’t make it an issue and you’ll be surprised how easy it is!

The toilet seat insert (and by toilet seat insert, I’m assuming you mean the mini toilet seat that fits onto the regular toilet seat, with the purpose of making the seat smaller and more kid friendly) is the best option, I guarantee it. The potty training process will get to the goal (of being potty trained) faster with the insert. Plus, it’s cheaper. Eventually, you want your kid to use the toilet just like you. The quickest transition is to already have them using the regular toilet, but simply accommodating their small butt with the insert.

Otherwise, if you go with the potty chair, they will be much less likely to want to trade it for the regular toilet. Not to mention the extra clean-up you’re going to have to do, which can be avoided if the child is going straight into the regular toilet. And the potty chair usually adds an extra step to the whole potty training process, since your child will likely need something in between the potty chair and the regular toilet (like the insert you could’ve started with in the first place) when transitioning to the regular toilet from the potty chair.

So, just skip the potty chair. It’s unnecessary and slows progress.

My baby was dry at 2. I could not afford a potty chair at the time and she looked at a common potty with contempt after a couple of tries and went on the toilet straight away. It depends on the child. Look what your baby needs and is comfortable with. Everyone is different. The brave ones will use the loo without anything and even go back on it despite being almost flashed down a couple of times. The more cautious ones may require a more secure seating. Whatever it is: it should not scare them.

I never used the potty chair. I started potty training so early(before 2yrs old) bc I was tired of cleaning up pee and poop so I def wasnt about to clean out that nasty little bowl everytime. It may be diff with girls but with my son we just put him on the toilet seat. I would just have him spread his legs and lean forward a little. This helped aim in the toilet and not all over the bathroom and plus he liked watching it hit the water. lol Just be patient and consistant!!! It will take time but believe me it is worth the trouble. My son is 2 and half and very rarely has an accident. I would also recommend that once the child catches on in the slightest way to stop the pull ups and diapers and put underwear on. They will be much more uncomfortable with wet underwear and not wanna do it anymore. Theyre used to peeing in diapers so it wont bother them or strike them as something they dont wanna do again.
